Just an
update on Grandpa and Grandma. They are in room 611 at Sunshine Manor. I think
it will take a few days for them to get adjusted. Uncle Dennis said they will
have a phone hooked up in their room soon. Prayers appreciated for an easy
adjustment period for them.

Good news, Good news. They have made it
through the first week. It has been a rough week, but it is getting a lot
better. Mom is going to the dining room to eat and sitting in a chair to visit
a little. She has found some old friends and is beginning to socialize a little
more. Dad has quit checking out the fire escapes and other peoples rooms.
Thanks for all your prayers.

Mom and Dad
are still doing good. Mom is still having problems with her back and went to
see an Orthopedic Surgeon yesterday. She goes back next Friday to take some
scans to see what is really going on.
Now Dad is holding down the fort. He gets up
in the morning, goes down for breakfast and makes sure all the chairs are under
the tables. He sits in the common room off and on all day. They say he is no
problem. One nurse said what she likes most is that he never complains!!!

Mom and Dad
are no longer at Sunshine Manor Assisted Living. Mom is back in Green Acres
Nursing home and Dad is in the hospital for a few days evaluation before he is
transferred to Green Acres with Mom. He will be moved Monday.
Thursday morning mom was found in the floor of
their room. She said she must have went to the bathroom and couldn't get back
in bed so she laid down in the floor. She was scheduled for a steroid injection
in her hip on Friday but it has been rescheduled.
Dad has really been disoriented but has really
been doing good in the hospital.
Mom is having problems with her pain and pain
medication. We hope to get it lined out soon. They will be there permanently.
Mom would like to get cards from family and friends. You can send them to my
house and I will take them to her. My address is 4000 Willow Lane, Paragould,
AR 72450.

Mom and Dad
are both at Greene Acres. We got Dad moved out this afternoon and Mom was
really excited. A couple of ladies from our church, Willene 'Hass' Jordan (Mrs.
Thompson to most of us) is a Methodist Lay Minister and Gay Holland from our
church came by and gave Mom and Dad communion. It's been a while since they
have been to communion and it was special.
Mom is in a lot better spirit and I hope we

Quick Update
on Mom, Dad and Uncle Wayne.
Mom is having a steroid injection this Friday
afternoon in her lower back. She had a cortisone shot in her hip a few weeks
ago and after checking the x-rays found her hip is really in pretty good shape,
her lower back is wore out. This injection should help some.
Dad gets up in the mornings, goes down to eat
breakfast. Goes for physical therapy. Sits around and looks at people until
lunch. Goes back for some more physical therapy. Sits around until supper then
sits around until bedtime. He seems to be happy. At least he ain't
complaining!!!!
Now lets talk about Uncle Wayne. He did not
look good Monday after he moved back to Paragould. He could not feed himself
and he was having lots of problems talking. Pretty pitiful. Yesterday, he was a
changed man. Mike rigged up another hearing aide and he could at least hear
something. He is talking alot more clearer and is cutting jokes. He is feeding
himself a little bit.
Tonight he was even better. Sheila was sitting
on his bed, Diane was roaming around and I was sitting on the portable potty.
He told me to sit in the recliner. Well I couldn't see him so I told him I
would be fine sitting there. Well he started digging around on his table tray
and started wadding up some paper towels. He threw it at me and he said,
"There, now you have something to wipe with!!!"
It was good to hear him laugh.

TO MY
FRIENDS:
Well here is the post no one wants to write.
The doctors have found cancer in Mom's
intestinal area. There are growths in her colon, liver, back and in the lower
lobes of both lungs. They think it started in her colon but they are not sure.
They ran a couple more scans yesterday to rule
out the chest area and brain.
A biopsy was taken this morning. They said we
will have to wait 2 to 3 days which more than likely will be Monday.
This biopsy will tell us where it originated
and give us clues on how to treat the cancer. It is currently at stage 4 and
all they can do is treat the cancer and possibly stop the growth and spread but
it will not cure the cancer.
Mom does not want Dad to know. We plan to take
Mom back to Greene Acres to be with Dad during her treatments.
We do not know how long any of this will take
until the biopsy results are back and we know more of what we are facing.
Thanks in advance for all of your prayers and
concerns.

Heaven
received a new Angel yesterday. It has been so fast that it still doesn't seem
real. We just found out for sure Friday that mom had colon cancer. She got to
go back and be with Dad until she was rushed back to the hospital Sunday where
she passed away. She was not alone while transitioning from her earthly family
and friends to her heavenly ones. We were all blessed to have her with us as
long as we did.
This Wednesday at the First United Methodist
Church in Marmaduke we will say our final goodbyes with a public visitation at
1pm followed by a 2pm service. She will be laid to rest with David (our brother
we never got to meet) at the Harvey's Chapel Cemetery.

No matter where you live, Boston, California,
Oregon, Alabama, Michigan, New York, wherever you happen to be on Wednesday at
2:00 PM Central, stop and have a mini memorial for Mom.
She will not be just in Arkansas, she will be
with each and every one of us. She would Will be very proud that the entire
family and friends will be remembering her.
We have family who would love to make the trip
and cannot make it. We will have a moment of silence to let Mom know we are all
there for her.
As Mom might say, "That's 2 o'clock

I have been remembering the Sarah from the
early years when Dennis and I first began dating. She was always very welcoming
to me. Several years into our dating, Sarah told me when she thought I was
gonna" fit in fine" The reason being, she had supper set on the stove
burners and we filled our plates and went in the living room and ate balancing
the plate on our knees. lol She thought I didn't seem to mind eating that way
so I must be alright. She told me she
had felt bad about not setting at the table. If I am remembering correctly, she
and Loran had a bunch of company that night and she was not expecting Dennis
and I.

Thanks Dennis I love all of you we have a lot
to be thankful to have such a wonderful family that has brought us so close
together. I don't get to make trips like I used to but know I'll be there in
spirit. My thoughts and prayers go out to each and every one of y'all and I
pray that God give uncle Lefty peace. If there's anything I can help with let
me know. Love y'all may God get the glory. Love Brian

like Cindy I had to work but I took Dennis's suggestion and at 2:00 I took a
moment to remember a sweet and loving aunt that I will miss very much. RIP Aunt

One of the bunches of flowers I picked was
weeds from the field beside Mom and Dad's yard. Mom used to tell us the
definition of a weed was an unwanted pest. But she said God never made anything
that wasn't unwanted. Everything has it's purpose.

I was
sitting here today thinking about Aunt Sarah and remembered something to share.
When I was a very young boy, there was a cowboy hat hanging on the wall in the
bedroom of the old White house. I inquired about that hat to Aunt Sarah and she
said "darlin that hat belongs to our Precious Clifton" (spoken like
music) . I then asked her who Precious Clifton was. She smiled and explained
that Precious Clifton my dad Cliff. She then told me stories about calling him
"Ton" when they were young and what satisfaction she got from getting
dad all fired up

I remember
my grandma talking to me about death shortly after she lost her mother. She
told me not to be sad when she passed away. Like any other young child, I told
her I would try not to be and she laughed. She told me that I would be and that
it is OK. But that I should be happy at the same time because she will be with
her momma. I remember her tearing up at that moment and saying, "See? Even
Grandma gets sad at times but I know I will see her again." She taught me
so much about life. I am sad. I am also happy. Happy to have been her grandson.
Happy to have had her as a teacher. And most of all, happy that she is in
eternal peace, running through the streets of heaven singing and rejoicing.
Heaven has a new angel and I can't wait to hug her again.

We little knew that morning that God was
going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
you did not go alone;
For part of us went with you
the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories,...
your love is still our guide:
and though we cannot see you,
you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken
and nothing seems the same,
but as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.
going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we do the same.

I want to
thank all my friends, family, customers, acquaintances, strangers and anyone
one else that helped our family with Mom's services today. If you have to say
goodbye to a parent or loved one I hope it goes as well as ours did today. As I
heard more than once, there were a lot more tears from happy moments than sad
moments.
Well done, friends and family of Sarah Rose
Hatcher White.

Mom would
have loved today. It was a good day. It had sad parts but laughter overshadowed
that as she would want it to be. She would be especially proud of her
granddaughter, Kaylin, who sang for her. Mom loved to sing and Kaylin has
received her gift and is carrying on her legacy with that gift. The church was FULL with people who loved
her. Thanks for all the prayers and good memories shared today.

I'm standing
in my kitchen eating a Nutty Bar and am taken back 30 years to Grandma's
kitchen. If she knew I was coming over, she would make sure to have some Nutty
Bars on hand. We would split the package and sit down at the table. A
discussion about school, life in general, our family history, or the wonders of
the world would be sure to follow. We spent many hours at that table
talking...well grandma talked mostly but I always listened to every word.
